Artona

The Artona armchair from the leading Italian Tacchini was created by the Italian architect and designer of the postmodern style Tobia Scarpa. The Artona armchair, made of solid wood, confirms that design is an art where the material becomes an expressive medium: strong, authoritative, reliable and durable. Artona combines rigor and comfort, protection and stability — qualities that it conveys by its very presence.

The chair is conceived as a microarchitecture of vertical and horizontal planes: two elements in the shape of the letter «L» serve simultaneously as a support and an armrest, while the backrest creates a single soft gesture that emphasizes the geometry of the design. The interlacing of the wood layers demonstrates the exquisite quality of the workmanship. In the manufacture of Artona, solid walnut wood or Canaletto walnut are used. Fabric or leather is offered for seat upholstery.
