Grande Papilio relax
Grande Papilio is a line of furnishings for break out and relax areas produced by B&B Italia in 2009. The series is created by the Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa.
The armchairs of the collection are notable for their plasticity. The name Grande Papilio recalls the butterfly because the shape of the chair could remind you of this graceful flying insect. As the author Naoto Fukasawa says: «The backrest designs the two wings with the head resting between them and protected by them.” It looks like the chair is carved out of a block of material from which its inverted truncated cone shape is made. With a powerful personality, its swivel system facilitates contact with the surrounding environment. The chair comes with an ottoman footrest designed for an absolutely relaxing position.
The collection is made of high-quality materials with Internal frame made of tubulars steel and steel profiles with the upholstery produced from the flexible cold shaped polyurethane foam Bayfit with the polyester fibre cover. The cover of the armchair can be of fabric or leather, offered in a wide range of colors.
